NCICH visited and extended solicitude to disabled children and orphans.
On May 8, the World Red-Cross Day, nurses from NCICH visited Children’s Hope International located in Shunyi to bring them books, toys, clothes and other daily necessities. Each head nurse held a disabled child or an orphan in her arms, telling stories and playing with the child. They also illustrated nursing knowledge to teachers there.
This 3-year-old boy born with harelip is named Xiaobai, who has been here for over 2 years. Witnessing other kids being adopted one by one, he also longs for a home of his own.” said a teacher. Xiaobai appeared to be quiet playing with toys all the time, but he opened his little arms expecting a hug from the nurse he saw.
Most of these children suffer congenital diseases such as harelip and congenital cardiac disease. They were sent to Beijing from various children’s welfare homes across China. Some of them have been fortunately adopted or treated by kind persons. Nonetheless, others are still waiting for their angels to come.
“These kids are eager for love and care from others. So we will come often to provide assistance such as healthcare and clothes.” Said Jenny Xie, Associate Chief Nursing Officer of NCICH.
